"Bleeding Edge of the Wedge": gotta love it - it is only an abyss if it holds no bottom, and if it doesn't?... then I think we have entered into "infinity: the realm of division by zero" where I believe this "domain" to be taking us: " To boldly go where no one has gone before!", or so we think...

Good job on the paper and take care.

Good job on the paper. Hopefully you can spread the word throughout your division about Web 2.0 tools. Its true for the most part we are at the bleeding edge of the wedge, where policy has yet to be written on some things we are doing. You just hope that your own judgement is on the same side as the administration.

I too would like to start a weblog with my students: it can only be considered as a win win win situation for those involved: parents, teachers and students. All problems that do arise: security for one and how to effectively assess (well for Math (no disrespect intended) it can be said that a mark value is easier to ascertain). But if you are going to teach across the curriculum (i.e.) ELA incorporation, then your job has become a wee bit more difficult. But for every problem we do solve, a 1000 are sure to rise, and if this is a universal constant, then let's get on with the job/task at hand.

Good Job "Birdman"

Anyone can have access to your blog since it is public. As for the comments, you can moderate everything that comes through, that way you have control over what is posted. The name of my blog is very simple. Mr. Bolton's Mathblog, I will get a creative name for it next semester.

I am thinking of starting a weblog for my class. Right now I am just trying to think of a good name. I don't want something that can be hacked into (is that the right word?) by anyone who is not a parent of my students. Since the blog is meant to be read by parents I want it to be secure and I don't really know if I want just anyone to be able to post comments that anyone can see. Is there any way that the comments can not be visible to others. do you the answer to this and also what is the name of your course blog(it might inspire an idea for mine).

That is an amazing animation. I cannot wait to show it to my students. I teach Flash to my Grades 9 -11 computer classes and they will love this!
Oh, the possibilities.
