Course Progression
Just a little note to myself to make sure I am hitting all the requirements of the course.
1. Construct a weblog according to design criteria. – Done (but never done, I love change)
2. Establish a news aggregator and gather the RSS feeds of all class participants.- Done (I pick up all the feeds plus I put RSS buttons on my blog)
3. Establish a wiki as a personal record of your class activity. – Done….like dinner! Tough to remember to add content to it sometimes.
4. Establish a personal tagging account. – Done – Delicious – Starting to get more and more tags all the time. This will be a real benefit to my Math course.
5. Develop a familiarity with open source document management systems and compare and contrast with proprietary products. – Done – Using Google Docs for my final paper. I have the ideas now I need to get on the work.
6. Establish a SKYPE account and host a Skypecast about the use of social networking in teaching and learning. – Done – Set it up with video feed (usually daily calls) – Have added a Yugma account as well – this is an amazing piece of software. During these sessions we talk about social networking and how technology has affected our teaching.
7. Develop and post a podcast that discusses the use of web based resources in a blended learning situation. – I just finished one on blended learning. Not hard to do, but I think podcasts will be outdated soon, vodcasts are the way to go.
8. Develop and post a video-cast that could be used as a learning object for a class that you would teach. – Done – I record every lesson in my pre-cal class – Finally got the uploading figured out. If you need to see them just click on Mr. Bolton’s Mathblog.
9. Final Paper – a work in progress, just like my life. I had better get my butt in gear and do this.
